About the role
Our client, Coventry City Council, is looking for an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to support the AMHP duty desk on a temporary full‑time basis. The position is based at The Caludon Centre in Coventry and offers a competitive hourly rate.
Key responsibilities
- Cover the AMHP duty desk during business‑hour shifts (9 am‑5 pm or 2 pm‑10 pm).
- Triaging Mental Health Act assessment referrals and ensuring appropriate action.
- Provide timely advice and support to colleagues and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of decisions and actions taken.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
- Current, qualified, and experienced AMHP.
- Ability to work on‑site during the specified shift hours.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act and related legislation.
