Architect – Social Infrastructure & Data Centre

About the role

HDR is seeking a qualified Architect to join its multidisciplinary design teams working on complex social infrastructure and data centre projects across the UK and Europe. You will contribute to all design phases, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and detailing of architectural projects from concept through construction, under the supervision of a Project Lead/Manager.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Facilitate client, stakeholder, and internal meetings; coordinate reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to close‑out.
• Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations, relevant standards, and healthcare guidance.
• Participate in QA/QC processes and technical reviews.
• Perform additional duties as required to support project delivery.

Required profile

• Registered Architect (ARB) with 3‑5 years of practical experience in the UK.
• Experience on social infrastructure projects (health, education, science/technology) and/or data centre projects.
• Strong collaboration, self‑organisation, and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of UK planning and building regulations.
