Architectural Assistant (Part II ARB) – London

About the role
We are looking for a talented Architectural Assistant (Part II ARB) to join our London team. This hands‑on position offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from design development through construction delivery, within a technically demanding, multi‑disciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop architectural design documentation from RIBA Stage 2 to Stage 4, including drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Produce and maintain BIM drawing packages in Revit and coordinate federated models with structural and MEP consultants.
- Prepare and manage planning applications, listed building consent, prior approval and Change of Use submissions.
- Draft and review Employer’s Requirements volumes, spatial briefs, performance specifications and material schedules.
- Maintain project documentation according to ISO 19650 standards and ESA UK naming conventions.
- Assist in preparing Employer’s Agent instructions, RFI responses and formal contract correspondence.
- Review contractor proposals, design development submissions, method statements and material approval requests.
- Attend and minute design team coordination, client review and site progress meetings.
- Log professional experience toward ARB Part 3 qualification and engage with the mentorship programme.
- Contribute design knowledge to ESA Group’s international network as needed.
Required profile
- MArch or equivalent ARB/RIBA Part 2 qualification from a validated school.
- Minimum 1 year post‑Part 2 practice experience in a UK architectural or multidisciplinary consultancy.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Clear professional written and verbal communication in English.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Revit (mandatory).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience producing coordinated BIM drawing sets.
- Working knowledge of UK planning legislation and Building Regulations (Approved Documents).
- Familiarity with ISO 19650 documentation standards.
