Architectural Technician

About the role

Avant Homes is seeking an Architectural Technician to join its West Yorkshire head office in Wakefield. You will work within a fast‑paced housebuilding environment, supporting the delivery of new homes across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage partnerships with housing associations, third‑party providers and sub‑contractors to ensure contractual compliance.
• Coordinate site start programmes and development schedules, meeting agreed timescales.
• Assist in producing or procuring technical investigations for land appraisals.
• Oversee technical and regulatory approvals, providing status reports on key performance indicators.
• Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Secure third‑party design elements in line with regional business plans.
• Support CDM‑C and health & safety responsibilities on all developments.
• Help prepare legal documentation for each development phase.
• Project‑manage a portfolio of live sites and expand knowledge of engineering elements.

Required profile

• Experience as an Architectural Technician in a housebuilding or construction setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑moving team.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to develop engineering knowledge and take on project‑management duties.
