Area Manager - Community Pubs

About the role

Greene King is looking for an experienced Area Manager for its Community Pubs business in Dorset. The role leads and develops a collection of pubs, supporting General Managers to build successful businesses and strong teams. It is a full-time, permanent position with 36.25 hours per week and a competitive salary plus bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire General Managers, giving them coaching, confidence and support to run successful pubs
• Drive commercial performance by growing sales, improving profitability and maximising each pub's potential
• Build strong teams, spot talent, support progression and create a culture where people want to stay and develop
• Visit the pubs regularly, understand the businesses, build relationships and be visible to teams
• Bring fresh ideas, challenge the status quo and find new ways to improve performance
• Ensure pubs deliver excellent standards, operate safely and consistently provide great guest experiences
• Work closely with support teams so pubs have what they need to succeed

Required profile

• Experienced hospitality leader comfortable talking about people and culture as much as sales and profitability
• Proven leadership across multiple hospitality businesses, or significant operational leadership with the ability to step into a multi-site role
• Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge, influence and make decisions
• An adaptable, resilient and collaborative leadership style that builds trust
