Area Sales Manager – North West England & North Wales

About the role

The Area Sales Manager will own the commercial performance of a high‑performing territory covering North West England and North Wales. You will drive growth for a broad portfolio of valves and steam system solutions across multiple industrial sectors, balancing account management with new‑business development.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of sales activity across the region.
• Develop new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts.
• Engage with contractors, OEMs, distributors and end‑users in sectors such as food & beverage, chemical, NHS and general industry.
• Identify, develop and convert project‑led sales opportunities.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate specifications and manage tender processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline reporting.
• Deliver against regional sales and profitability targets.

Required profile

• Proven external B2B sales experience in mechanical engineering or technical products.
• Experience working with end‑users and in project‑led sales environments.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of winning new business.
• HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the territory.
• Based within North West England or North Wales.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering expertise.
