Art & Design Teacher (Part‑time, 0.6 FTE)

About the role

William Perkin Church of England High School is seeking a passionate Art & Design Teacher on a 0.6 FTE, one‑year fixed‑term contract starting September 2026. You will join a dynamic, innovative Art department delivering a three‑tiered curriculum for students across all National Curriculum levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Art & Design lessons for Key Stage 4, preparing students for GCSE and beyond.
• Collaborate with the Art department and senior leadership to develop an ambitious, inclusive curriculum.
• Monitor student progress through half‑term assessments and provide targeted support for disadvantaged pupils.
• Contribute to whole‑school initiatives aimed at raising achievement across the ability range.

Required profile

• A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Ability to teach Art & Design to KS4 and knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements.
• Understanding of recent curriculum and learning developments in art education.
• Commitment to supporting disadvantaged students to achieve at least at the level of their peers.
