ASD Support Assistant – Full‑Time (Hungerford)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate ASD Support Assistant to join a well‑respected special‑needs school in Hungerford. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, and involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children with autism in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Implement personalised learning and behavioural strategies under the guidance of teachers, SENCOs and therapists.
• Help develop social skills and confidence in both academic and recreational settings.
• Monitor pupil progress and report observations to senior staff.
• Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment for all students.

Required profile

• Graduate or recent graduate in Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care or a related field.
• Enthusiastic, patient and able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to supporting children with autism and a desire to develop expertise in special education.

Required skills

• Understanding of autism‑related communication and learning needs.
• Ability to follow and apply personalised support plans.
• Basic record‑keeping and observation skills.
