Assistant Buyer

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Buyer to join Ryman’s Buying team. In this role you will support the development of product ranges, analyse sales data and help deliver successful promotions across our stores and online channels.

Key responsibilities

• Support the achievement of sales and margin targets for assigned categories.
• Analyse product performance, monitor market trends and identify commercial opportunities.
• Assist with range reviews, new product launches and promotional planning.
• Maintain supplier relationships, support cost negotiations and manage day‑to‑day administration such as product setup and invoice processing.
• Visit suppliers and attend trade shows to stay abreast of industry developments.

Required profile

• Passion for retail and product merchandising.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
