Assistant Estimator – Junior Estimating Role

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant (Junior) Estimator to join our estimating team in Rugby. The role supports the preparation of accurate costings, works closely with suppliers and clients, and helps ensure commercially sound project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing project estimates and costing documents.
• Review enquiries, drawings and specifications to gather relevant information.
• Obtain quotations and pricing from specialist suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support the assessment of incoming project enquiries.
• Help prepare variations, cost reports and final accounts.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Confidence working with numbers and technical information.
• Willingness to learn to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Interest in construction, furniture making, architectural joinery or estimating.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

What we offer

• Salary range £25,000 – £30,000 per year.
• 40‑hour week, office‑based in Rugby.
• 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
