Assistant First Line Assurance Manager

About the role

Border to Coast is seeking a motivated Assistant First Line Assurance Manager to support the First Line Assurance Senior Manager. You will help provide clear guidance on risk and control assurance and manage incidents as the business continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business teams to identify, assess and manage risks and controls in line with the Risk Management Framework.
• Support incident management, ensuring incidents are recorded, tracked, analysed for root cause and used for improvement.
• Coordinate assurance testing and challenge internal controls to maintain a strong control environment.
• Plan and coordinate the annual AAF 01/20 control assurance programme with stakeholders.
• Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating requests and actions.
• Prepare risk, control and incident reporting materials for senior leadership and executive committees.
• Assist in developing and enhancing the Risk Management Framework and related systems, including user testing and training.
• Promote a positive risk and control culture across the organisation.

Required profile

• Experience in a first‑line risk and control role within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and trustworthiness.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing abilities.
