Assistant First Line Assurance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced first‑line assurance specialist to join our award‑winning team at Border to Coast. In this role you will support the First Line Assurance Senior Manager by providing clear guidance on risk, control assurance and incident management as the business continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business teams to identify, assess and manage risks and controls in line with the Risk Management Framework.
• Support incident management, ensuring incidents are recorded, tracked, analysed for root cause and improvements are identified.
• Coordinate assurance testing and challenge internal controls to maintain a strong control environment.
• Plan and coordinate the annual AAF 01/20 control assurance programme with stakeholders across the business.
• Act as a primary contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating requests and actions.
• Prepare risk, control and incident reporting materials for senior leadership and executive committees.
• Assist in developing and enhancing the Risk Management Framework and related systems, including user testing and training.
• Promote a positive risk and control culture throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a first‑line risk and control role within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and trustworthiness.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing abilities.
