Assistant General Manager

About the role

The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in delivering high‑quality day‑to‑day operations at the Bradford club. You will help maintain operational standards, drive membership and commercial targets, and foster a safe, welcoming environment for members and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies, conducting regular safety checks and addressing defects.
• Recruit, manage, and develop Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, holding regular team meetings.
• Drive membership growth, revenue, and secondary spending while overseeing weekly banking to minimise variance.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and uniform compliance across the facility.
• Deliver outstanding member service and represent JD Gyms values in all interactions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and developing teams in leisure, fitness, hospitality or a customer‑focused environment.
• Qualified at least Level 2 Gym Instructor and able to support coaching and colleague development.
• Track record of contributing to membership growth, commercial performance and local marketing activities.
• Strong commitment to excellent member service and operational delivery.
