Assistant Manager – Automotive Garage

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Manager with a solid mechanical background to support the daily operations of our busy automotive garage in Didcot. You will work closely with the workshop team to ensure high‑quality service, maintenance and repair work while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the workshop team, meeting targets and maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate communication between the Bodyshop, Parts Sales and workshop to ensure smooth workflow.
• Plan, report and monitor work levels to optimise productivity.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements in workflow and space utilisation.
• Promote professional upsell opportunities through customer service and technician reports.
• Oversee daily operations, including workflow meetings.
• Represent the brand to customers, ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint.
• Track bookings, estimates and customer interactions using the CRM system.
• Handle invoicing, job tracking and compile regular KPI reports for management.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Proactive, can‑do attitude and ownership of issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven track record of achieving targets and goals.
• Excellent customer service with an eye for upsell opportunities.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
