Assistant Team Manager (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Assistant Team Manager supports the Team Manager in delivering high‑quality service to Quilter's customers. This fixed‑term position (9 months) is based in Southampton and involves overseeing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring timely transaction processing, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Act as deputy to the Team Manager, covering their responsibilities as needed.
• Ensure customer requests are processed within agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Drive service and process improvements while maintaining risk awareness.
• Utilise operational management tools, QCD Board and visual management to monitor performance.
• Organise staff training, deliver feedback and conduct one‑to‑one development sessions.
• Support team engagement, motivation and succession planning.
• Provide recommendations on process, service and operational improvements based on internal and external business insights.

Required profile

• Experience using operational management tools, QCD Board and visual management systems.
• Proven ability to train staff and deliver constructive feedback.
• Strong risk awareness and decision‑making capability.
• Capability to support and motivate a team in a fast‑moving environment.
