Associate Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

SecurityHQ is seeking an Associate Cyber Security Consultant to join its London team. This position is ideal for professionals with a few years of SOC experience who want to transition into a consultancy role, working closely with customers to improve their security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Support client engagements through regular communication and updates.
• Participate in weekly Security Operations meetings and assist with coordination.
• Review and triage security incidents, event logs, and service integrations.
• Assist with client onboarding and operational service requests.
• Monitor security controls, identify potential gaps, and maintain accurate documentation of client environments.
• Develop, test, and maintain SIEM use cases on platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, and Google Security Operations.
• Contribute to security improvement initiatives and client recommendations.

Required profile

• A genuine passion for cybersecurity and technology.
• Experience in a customer‑facing role with strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Several years of experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
