About the role
Join Cell Press’s iScience editorial team as an Associate/Scientific Editor focusing on microbiology. You will help shape high‑impact research across life sciences, support peer review, and collaborate with global researchers to ensure rigorous, inclusive scientific communication.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the novelty and impact of submitted microbiology manuscripts.
- Oversee the peer‑review process for direct and transferred submissions.
- Build and maintain relationships with authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.
- Recruit original research papers and review articles for iScience.
- Represent iScience and Cell Press at scientific meetings and research institutions.
- Collaborate with internal editors and cross‑functional teams across Cell Press.
Required profile
- PhD in a life‑science discipline, preferably Microbiology.
- Post‑doctoral research experience is a strong advantage.
- At least 2 years of editorial or related experience.
- Interest in interdisciplinary research and ability to think critically across scientific topics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
