Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager – £60-65k Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager to join a leading independent accountancy practice in London. The role combines audit, statutory accounts preparation and client advisory work, offering exposure to a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses. You will work alongside experienced managers and partners, taking ownership of assignments while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Review the work of seniors and trainees, providing coaching and technical support.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships as the day‑to‑day contact.
• Support corporation tax and wider compliance work.
• Identify and deliver additional advisory services.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on complex assignments and business development initiatives.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, preferably with first‑time passes.
• Strong experience in a UK accountancy practice covering both audit and accounts.
• Proven track record leading audit engagements and reviewing accounts preparation.
• Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards.
• Commercially aware, proactive and committed to delivering an exceptional client experience.
• Approachable leader who enjoys developing people.
