Audit Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our well‑established professional services firm. Based in Sittingbourne, this permanent position offers hybrid working, a varied client portfolio and the chance to make a genuine impact within a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring assignments are completed accurately, efficiently and on time.
• Lead audit planning, fieldwork, completion processes and file reviews in line with professional standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Review work of junior team members, providing coaching and development support.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and best‑practice requirements.
• Assist with proposals and support business‑development activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service delivery.
• Prepare and present professional advice to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with solid practice experience.
• Strong external audit experience across a varied client portfolio.
• Proven ability to manage assignments from planning through to completion.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior colleagues.
• Good knowledge of UK auditing standards, FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Confident communication skills and commercial awareness.
• Proactive, organised and resilient approach to workload management.
• Experience with charities or not‑for‑profit organisations is advantageous.
