Head of Finance – Senior Finance Leadership

About the role

Join a leading UK infrastructure and logistics organisation as Head of Finance. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead a team of Finance Managers and support the senior leadership team across a complex multi‑site operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of Finance Managers and finance professionals.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes across multiple sites.
• Deliver insightful management reporting and financial analysis to support decision‑making.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance, cost efficiency and profitability.
• Support capital investment planning and business case development.
• Strengthen governance, controls and risk‑management frameworks.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and balance‑sheet performance.
• Enhance reporting capability and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Support audit processes and maintain a strong financial control environment.
• Act as deputy to the Finance Director when required.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Significant post‑qualified finance experience.
• Proven experience leading finance teams in a multi‑site or operationally focused business.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting expertise.
• Experience improving processes, systems and financial performance.
• Solid understanding of governance, controls, audit and risk management.
