Audit Senior – Professional Services Firm

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Audit Senior to join our growing Audit & Assurance team in Portsmouth. This role offers the chance to work within a well‑established international professional services firm, where career progression is actively supported.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audit fieldwork, including substantive and analytical procedures.
• Plan, execute, and complete audit assignments with minimal supervision.
• Prepare statutory financial statements from client data.
• Identify and communicate risk areas or key issues to Managers and Partners.
• Ensure audit files are accurate, complete, and compliant with standards.
• Mentor, coach, and support junior team members throughout the audit process.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong experience in audit within a practice environment.
• Confident in managing client relationships and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and develop others.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of audit methodology and standards.
• Ability to prepare statutory financial statements.
• Proficiency in conducting substantive and analytical audit procedures.
