AWS Cloud Architect – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to join our Cloud Engineering business unit on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will design, build and deliver cloud platforms for a diverse portfolio of clients, applying best‑practice cloud engineering and ensuring high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a hands‑on cloud expert, shaping the technical direction of client projects.
• Design AWS‑based cloud platforms that incorporate provider best practices.
• Implement platforms either independently or as part of a larger engineering team.
• Lead or support onsite client teams while collaborating with internal engineers.
• Produce clear documentation and present complex solutions to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Balance competing priorities, respond flexibly to client needs, and share knowledge across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) with Professional‑level certification.
• Design and implementation of cloud platforms.
• Containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Serverless architecture concepts.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• CI/CD pipeline experience (e.g., Jenkins).
• Project tracking tools such as Jira.
