Back End Software Engineer – Newcastle

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Back End Software Engineer to join a high‑performing engineering team in Newcastle city centre. You will work on complex, business‑critical projects, delivering scalable applications and innovative solutions in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Build robust, high‑quality solutions using modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including developers, analysts and business users.
• Take ownership of technical products and drive project delivery.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing and deployment automation.
• Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for technical innovation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend development background, preferably with Python.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as pytest.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent English communication skills.
