Bank Partnerships Manager
Chip
Job description
About the role
Chip, a wealth super app covering savings, investments and pensions, is looking for a Bank Partnerships Manager. You will own the day-to-day relationships with the banks on the deposit panel, report to the VP Commercial and work closely with Treasury and Finance. You will run the existing panel, bring new banks on board and improve the products they offer through Chip.
Key responsibilities
- Act as primary day-to-day contact for each bank on the panel, running regular check-ins, resolving operational issues and escalating where needed.
- Work with Treasury to monitor deposit flows, funding targets and capacity, flagging early when a bank approaches its limits or a product is due to mature.
- Support the VP Commercial in commercial negotiations on rates, margins, funding commitments and contract terms, preparing the analysis and materials.
- Grow the panel by researching and approaching new banks, building the case for each and supporting them through to launch.
- Work with banks on improving products through Chip, feeding in customer and market insight and helping shape new product terms.
- Handle bank onboarding: due diligence, legal and contractual documentation, account opening, client money acknowledgement letters and coordination of technical and operational readiness.
- Oversight of panel banks, including performance against terms and SLAs, periodic due diligence refreshes, financial health monitoring and outsourcing and third-party risk requirements.
- Keep relationship records, contracts and oversight evidence up to date and audit-ready, and help build the team's processes and playbooks.
Required profile
- 3+ years' experience in bank relationship management, treasury, deposit partnerships or a similar role at a bank, savings platform or fintech working with banking partners.
- Solid understanding of how banks think about retail deposit funding, pricing and liquidity.
- Experience supporting commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
- Comfortable working through detailed onboarding and due diligence processes.
- Clear, credible communication with senior stakeholders at partner banks.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves in a small, growing team.
Nice to have
- Experience at a deposit aggregator or savings platform.
- Familiarity with FCA client money (CASS) rules and outsourcing and third-party risk management.
- An existing network across UK challenger and specialist banks.
What we offer
- Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, with a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
- Workplace pension with 5% employer contribution up to £50,000.
- Private medical insurance, Employee Assistance Programme and cycle-to-work scheme.
- Season ticket loan, free ChipX subscription for UK-based employees and 28 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Annual training budget, Chip Fitness Benefit, company laptop and flexible working arrangements.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The interview process includes a video screen with the VP of Commercial and a final interview with the hiring manager and a Treasury team member.
