Bookkeeper – Accounting Practice in Chichester

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping for multiple clients using Xero and Sage, ensuring accurate data entry and timely processing.
• Reconcile bank statements, manage bank feeds and prepare VAT returns, including margin schemes and CIS.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and summaries to meet client requirements.
• Follow internal workflows and deadlines diligently, maintaining high standards of confidentiality.
• Support senior team members and contribute to overall team efficiency.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice with strong bookkeeping abilities.
• Proficiency in Xero and/or Sage, with familiarity of Dext and Hubdoc.
• Good understanding of VAT schemes, CIS and double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Excellent organisational skills, precision and a professional attitude.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and able to communicate clearly.
