Bookkeeper – Full‑time, Glasgow

About the role

This permanent Bookkeeper position supports the day‑to‑day accounting activities of a family‑run construction business in the heart of Glasgow. Reporting to a managing director, you will be the primary financial contact and help provide clear cash‑flow visibility for the board.

Key responsibilities

• Enter all incoming invoices into QuickBooks and process outgoing invoices.
• Monitor outstanding balances and maintain accurate financial records.
• Build cash‑flow models and spreadsheets in Excel to improve financial visibility.
• Oversee clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
• Implement office policies and procedures to boost workflow and productivity.
• Manage day‑to‑day office operations, ensuring efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of UK bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Highly organised, diligent and self‑motivated.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
• Based in Glasgow or the immediate surrounding area.
