Bookkeeper – Remote, Full/Part Time

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to join a growing accountancy practice based in Horsham. The role can be performed fully remotely, offering flexibility for either full‑time or part‑time schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices and maintain accurate records in Xero and QuickBooks Online.
• Manage client inboxes, respond to queries from clients, suppliers and internal teams.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms, investigating discrepancies.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules and support cash‑flow management.
• Administer Dext/Receipt Bank, process expenses and ensure HMRC compliance.
• Assist with payroll processing, timesheets, pension administration and new starter/leaver documentation.
• Support VAT returns, management accounts preparation and year‑end audit requirements.
• Monitor debtor reports, chase outstanding payments and help improve credit‑control processes.

Required profile

• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice (preferred).
• AAT Level 2‑3 desirable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of VAT rules and basic payroll processes.
• Excellent organisation, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Salary £28,000‑£32,000 per year, dependent on experience.
