Breakfast Club Assistant

About the role

Ivy Lane Primary School is looking for a reliable Breakfast Club Assistant to support children before the school day begins. Working four mornings a week during term time, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages play, learning and social interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children from arrival until the start of the school day.
• Prepare and serve simple, nutritious breakfast items while adhering to food‑hygiene standards.
• Promote positive behaviour and support children’s personal, social and emotional needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Assist with the daily set‑up and tidy‑up of the Breakfast Club area.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, caring and able to work flexibly with young children.
• Good communication skills and the ability to encourage positive interaction.
• Willingness to obtain a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate if not already held.
• Commitment to the school’s values of kindness, trust and community.

What we offer

• Permanent part‑time contract (4 hours per week, 38 weeks per year).
• Salary pro‑rated between £25,185 and £25,989 per annum.
