Building Surveyor – Claims Evaluation (London/South East)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our claims team covering London and the South East. The role focuses on assessing properties affected by fire, flood, storm and other perils, with a particular interest in subsidence cases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed site visits to verify claim information and assess damage.
• Communicate with policyholders to gather additional data and explain policy coverage.
• Create repair schedules, validate variation requests and ensure compliance with policy terms.
• Manage the full claim lifecycle from assessment through to final reporting.
• Appoint and brief contractors such as asbestos, drying, restoration and building specialists.
• Maintain adherence to health & safety legislation and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Building Surveying (BSc Hons) or equivalent.
• MRICS qualification (minimum AssocRICS) or comparable professional status.
• Proven experience in loss adjusting or technical surveying, preferably with subsidence projects.
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, Party Wall Act 1996, Building Regulations and Planning Legislation.

Required skills

• CAD proficiency.
