Building Surveyor – Newly Qualified / APC Candidate

About the role

We are seeking a newly qualified Building Surveyor (or APC candidate) to join our growing property investment business. Based in Birmingham with flexible office arrangements, you will work client‑side on a diverse UK commercial portfolio valued at £350m.

Key responsibilities

• Manage building surveying projects from inception to completion, including refurbishment, dilapidations, acquisitions and asset management.
• Produce project designs, specifications and cost analyses.
• Diagnose defects and develop repair and maintenance strategies.
• Administer contracts and coordinate external consultants.
• Prepare schedules of condition and handle dilapidations matters.
• Support property acquisitions and disposals.
• Assist with service‑charge and other asset‑management tasks.
• Deliver refurbishment programmes across mixed‑use stock (office, retail, industrial).

Required profile

• Graduate to newly chartered level, MRICS qualified or working towards APC.
• Experience in private practice or client‑side surveying.
• Strong time‑management and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commercially minded with an ownership‑focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• CAD proficiency.
• Competency in Microsoft Office.
