Business Assurance Auditor

About the role

Join the Distribution Business Assurance Team as a Business Assurance Auditor. You will work closely with the Business Assurance Manager to deliver the annual audit plan for electricity distribution, helping the business understand and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and execute end‑to‑end audits, including drafting terms of reference and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop and run audit test plans, conduct interviews and evidence‑based testing.
• Analyse findings, grade them, and produce clear reports with action ownership until closure.
• Maintain audit and action records, contribute to leadership reporting and support other assurance activities.
• Assist with compliance programmes such as Operations Compliance Self‑Assessment and business separation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in auditing with practical application of audit techniques.
• Strong knowledge of UK legal and regulatory frameworks, statutory licence obligations and corporate governance.
• Understanding of risk management, business governance, internal controls and assurance models.
• Good working knowledge of electricity distribution network operations.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Full, current UK driving licence.
