Business Development Associate – Investment Management

About the role

Join eFinancialCareers as a Business Development Associate and help drive new business growth within the investment management sector. You will work closely with senior Business Development Managers, building relationships with financial advisers across the UK and supporting the sales pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with UK‑based financial advisers.
• Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Follow up on inbound enquiries and marketing campaigns.
• Proactively contact advisers to arrange meetings for regional sales teams.
• Support Business Development Managers throughout the sales process, including attending adviser meetings (both face‑to‑face and virtual).
• Manage a professional sales pipeline using CRM systems.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations and Compliance to ensure a seamless client experience.
• Become knowledgeable in tax‑efficient investment and estate‑planning solutions.

Required profile

• Confident communicator who enjoys speaking with people.
• Highly ambitious, competitive and target‑driven.
• Resilient, organised and eager to learn.
• Motivated to build a long‑term career in financial services.
• Some commercial or B2B sales experience (e.g., recruitment, SaaS, telesales).
• Interest in investments, wealth management or financial markets.
• Willingness to pursue professional qualifications such as CII or CISI.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM systems.
