Business Development Manager

About the role

Rutherford Briant is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth across multiple sectors, including catering, education, healthcare and facilities management. You will be the primary point of contact for new and existing clients, shaping tailored cleaning and maintenance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target new business opportunities across a wide range of sectors.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets.
• Generate leads through networking, cold outreach, industry events and referrals.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key accounts.
• Understand client needs and propose customised service solutions.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for service expansion or new offerings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably within facilities management, cleaning or hospitality.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
