Business Development Manager – Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a fast‑growing logistics organisation in Dover. This hybrid role combines account management with proactive new‑business development, allowing you to shape the company’s growth across cargo, construction, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with new and existing customers.
• Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities.
• Prepare commercial proposals and support contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure excellent customer delivery.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and represent the business at industry events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management within logistics, freight forwarding, ports, shipping or supply‑chain environments.
• Strong relationship‑building and negotiation abilities.
• Commercial mindset with a track record of spotting growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to build credibility with customers.
