Business Development Manager - Property Auctions

About the role

This permanent position is for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth for a specialist property auction house covering Southampton and surrounding areas. You will work remotely with regular travel, generating valuation appointments, advising owners on auction benefits, and securing new auction instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new valuation appointments and auction instructions across the territory.
• Conduct property valuations and recommend realistic auction guide prices.
• Explain the auction process, timelines, fees and benefits to prospective sellers.
• Build and maintain relationships with homeowners, landlords, developers, investors, estate agents and professional introducers.
• Prospect for new business through networking, referrals, telephone activity and local market engagement.
• Collaborate with operations, marketing and auction teams to progress instructions and meet development targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Estate Agent, Property Valuer, Listing Agent or Auction Professional.
• Proven business development track record in the property sector.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and remotely.
