Business Development Relationship Director

About the role

Join Barclays' Corporate Banking team as a Business Development Relationship Director, focusing on winning new clients across the South Coast Surrey and Sussex region. You will lead early conversations, turn opportunities into lasting relationships, and collaborate with product specialists to deliver tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a clear pipeline of opportunities across sectors such as retail, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, transport, and business services.
• Meet business owners, finance leaders and advisers in the market, representing Barclays within the regional business community.
• Support portfolio growth, transition new clients into the bank, and ensure activities meet risk and control expectations.

Required profile

• Experience in corporate banking with mid or large corporate clients.
• Proven track record of originating and converting new client opportunities.
• Understanding of growth business funding, including lending and working capital.
• Confidence working with CFOs, business owners and senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Network across Sussex business and advisory community (desirable).
• Experience working with private equity, investors or corporate finance advisers (desirable).
• Knowledge of regional sectors and corporate banking products such as lending, liquidity and risk solutions (desirable).
