Business Intelligence Developer – Power BI & SQL

About the role

We are partnering with a growing data‑driven organisation in Bristol to expand their data team. The Business Intelligence Developer will design, build and maintain reporting solutions using the Microsoft BI stack, ensuring data accuracy and usability across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Write, optimise and troubleshoot complex T‑SQL queries in SQL Server.
• Extract, transform and analyse data from multiple business systems.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications.
• Manage reporting requests through a ticketing/work‑queue system and own tickets from request to delivery.
• Maintain data quality, consistency and governance standards.
• Document reporting logic, data models and business rules.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to deliver effective reporting solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience with the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, T‑SQL, SSIS, Power BI).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience handling requests via ticketing or service‑management systems.
• Ability to take ownership of end‑to‑end reporting solutions.
• Knowledge of dimensional modelling and Kimball methodology.
• Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
