Business Intelligence Officer

About the role

The Business Intelligence Officer will support the planning, development and implementation of business intelligence functions, including data collection, analysis, performance monitoring, reporting and strategic research.

Key responsibilities

• Establish excellent relationships with internal and external customers to anticipate and respond to needs.
• Communicate performance information verbally, in written datasets or reports and presentations.
• Assist with the development of innovative KPIs/metrics to support the TfC strategy and vision.
• Utilise a range of reporting tools to produce weekly and monthly datasets and analyses.
• Analyse and interpret data to identify patterns, trends and data quality issues for strategic and operational decision making.
• Provide advice and guidance to managers on performance improvement and intelligence issues.
• Work with colleagues and managers to identify or influence performance and improvement actions.
• Manage own work in line with the team programme to ensure key deadlines are met throughout the year.

Required profile

• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills for presenting performance information.
• Experience developing KPIs and metrics aligned with strategic objectives.
• Proficiency in using reporting tools to generate regular datasets and analyses.
• Analytical mindset to identify trends and data quality issues.
• Capability to advise managers on performance improvement.
• Collaborative approach to influence improvement actions.
• Self‑management to meet deadlines and deliver on the team programme.
