Buyer – Procurement for Nuclear Infrastructure

About the role

Join Babcock at the Devonport Royal Dockyard as a Buyer, supporting critical nuclear and defence programmes. You will source and procure materials, plant, and equipment, ensuring projects stay on schedule while meeting strict safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, plant, equipment and services for infrastructure and construction projects.
• Prepare and issue requests for quotation and purchase orders in line with procurement plans.
• Evaluate supplier tenders against technical, commercial, quality and delivery criteria.
• Manage supplier performance, expedite deliveries and support project milestones.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to manage demand, risks and procurement priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Buyer or in procurement within construction, infrastructure, energy, defence or other regulated sectors.
• Experience sourcing materials, plant and equipment.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial principles and contract terms.
• Experience working in quality‑controlled or highly regulated environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
