Buyer – Supply Chain & Procurement (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

This 6‑month fixed‑term position provides day‑to‑day assistance for supply chain and procurement activities at the Bognor Regis site. You will work closely with local and global teams to develop and manage improvement programmes, sourcing strategies and cost‑out initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate tactical and strategic site purchasing activities to drive material procurement and implement strategic initiatives.
• Participate in production meetings, report site‑wide performance and support customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and improve key supplier metrics such as OTD, CRSD, cost‑out, inventory and days on hand.
• Liaise with sales teams to align forecasts and MRP, ensuring manufacturing capability meets expectations.
• Develop and implement lean process improvements and support global sourcing strategies.
• Identify material cost‑saving opportunities through negotiation or re‑sourcing and drive reporting.
• Support operational performance of supply chain processes and procedures.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC in Business, Purchasing, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year procurement experience in a similar role.
• Strong negotiation, material management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Highly PC literate with experience of MRP, JIT, KanBan and EDI systems.
