C++ Software Engineer – Relocation to Amsterdam

About the role

We are looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join a leading proprietary trading firm in Amsterdam. The role focuses on building ultra‑low latency, high‑performance systems that directly influence trading decisions across global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain high‑performance C++ applications in a latency‑critical environment.
• Build scalable and reliable software for trading, execution and hardware development teams.
• Collaborate with traders, quantitative researchers and engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into innovative technical solutions.
• Contribute to greenfield projects and own the full software development lifecycle.
• Balance performance, latency, scalability, maintainability and reliability in distributed systems.
• Operate within an agile environment using automated testing and continuous deployment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience after graduation.
• Strong commercial C++ development background, preferably with modern C++ standards.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.
• Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
