Care Home Deputy Manager – 6‑month maternity cover

About the role

As the Deputy Manager of a Barchester care home, you will support the delivery of high‑quality care and step in for the General Manager when required. This six‑month maternity cover role offers the chance to lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure residents enjoy the best possible quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and care standards.
• Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team, providing guidance and supervision.
• Conduct regular audits, supervise clinical practice and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet quality and performance targets.
• Manage safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Support HR functions, budgeting, and sales/marketing activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting residents with diverse health needs.
• Track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Background in HR processes and budget management.
• Strong understanding of sales and marketing within a care setting.
• Compassionate, resilient and committed to delivering quality care.
