Carpenter – Multi‑Trader (Full‑time)

About the role

If you’re an experienced carpenter who can turn your hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in your work, we'd like to hear from you. You will work in customers' homes carrying out day‑to‑day repairs, maintenance and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out multi‑trade repairs, primarily carpentry, while handling general maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve everyday repairs such as doors, locks, frames, skirting, architraves, flooring, kitchen units, worktops, minor wall repairs, tiling and basic plumbing‑related repairs.
• Complete carpentry works in kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows and other areas to a high standard.
• Undertake associated tasks like patch plastering, sealing, decorating touch‑ups, minor tiling and replacement of fixtures, fittings, handles, locks and ironmongery.
• Work independently to manage your own workload and collaborate with other trades on complex projects.
• Record work completed, materials used and update progress through work orders and reporting systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and keep residents informed throughout the repair process.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety policies and Hyde’s standards.
• Deliver a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes.

Required profile

• Solid experience across carpentry with ability to perform general maintenance and multi‑trade repairs.
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑friendly attitude.
• Physically fit and happy with hands‑on work.
• Experience in social housing is a bonus.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
