Category Manager, Tech Services

About the role

LSEG's Group Procurement manages third-party supplier engagements and is organised into three towers: Technology, Services and Corporate. This Category Manager role covers the Technology Services category within the Services Tower, providing specialist procurement expertise and insights with the aim of delivering year-on-year value. It focuses on sourcing, supplier relationship management and business partnering for a defined sub-category of spend, predominantly supporting the Engineering organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Own a Level 3 category of spend and take accountability for its spend, sourcing, supplier relationship management and business partnering
• Develop and own a dynamic category strategy
• Work with Category Leads to support the development of senior buyers in the same category
• Act as business partner to stakeholders, helping gather requirements and negotiate, and owning the procurement side of strategic and commercial projects
• Take appropriate involvement in risk management and keep up to date with procurement process developments
• Ensure governance, risk management and controls follow internal and external policies
• Support the wider procurement strategy and transformation roadmap

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or category management is essential
• Degree level education
• Experience in a similar industry
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, preferably at C-level
• Experience in technology services procurement is desirable but not essential

Required skills

• A procurement or supply chain qualification such as MCIPS or IAACM is desirable
