CCTV Intelligence and Retrievals Officer

About the role

The British Transport Police are seeking a CCTV Intelligence and Retrievals Officer to join the Control Rooms and Visual Services Department. In this full‑time position you will support frontline investigations by gathering, collating and distributing real‑time CCTV footage across the rail network.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively monitor live incidents, review camera feeds and push relevant footage to control rooms.
• Identify crime patterns, log incidents and raise alerts with control rooms as required.
• Produce high‑quality evidential CCTV downloads and still images, maintaining evidential standards.
• Record and log all activity, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Respond promptly to customer service enquiries, supporting a strong service focus.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Problem‑solving skills for technical issues related to CCTV operations.
• Knowledge of national guidelines for capture and processing of CCTV and video imagery.
• Understanding of criminal investigations and operational procedures.
