Charge Nurse - Community Mental Health Team

About the role

NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting a Registered Nurse to work as Charge Nurse on a Community Mental Health Team. The post covers a defined caseload of clients or patients and involves leading the nursing team in its day-to-day delivery of care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver care to a defined caseload, applying the Nursing Process and using case management where appropriate to ensure high-quality care.
• Work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.
• Delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners and clinical support workers within the clinical service.
• Act as deputy for the team leader or senior charge nurse, keeping the service running effectively in their absence.
• Comply with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and other relevant guidance.
• Assist the team leader in implementing and evidencing the Clinical Governance Framework and Staff Governance Framework.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
• Degree level education or training, or working towards it.
• Postgraduate expertise in the specialty area, showing the breadth of knowledge needed to lead safely and effectively.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards in the specialty.
• A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required.
