Child Care Solicitor – Public Law Children Team

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Solicitor to join our well‑established Public Law Children team in Reading. You will work on a diverse range of legally aided cases, providing high‑quality representation for parents and other parties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an independent caseload of public law children matters.
• Represent clients in care proceedings, Public Law Outline (PLO) matters, adoption and special guardianship orders.
• Handle child protection, child abduction, and related advocacy work.
• Collaborate closely with social services, guardians, and other professionals.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in child care or public law children matters.
• 2–8 years post‑qualification experience (applications outside this range are welcome).
• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload with appropriate supervision.
• Strong client‑care and advocacy skills.
