Jifmar · Stirling
Job description
About the role
Jifmar, a worldwide maritime operator that chartered workboats and supports clients' maritime projects since 2005, is looking for a Civil Engineer to help deliver marine and coastal infrastructure projects across the UK. Working with Project Managers, Engineers and Operations teams in the UK and France, the engineer takes part in the full project lifecycle, from tender preparation and engineering studies through mobilisation, site execution and close-out. This is a hands-on role combining civil engineering, marine operations and project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Develop technical solutions for marine and coastal projects (quays, jetties, foundations, coastal protection, trenching and cable landfalls), from design inputs to installation methods and technical documentation.
- Support projects from tender through execution and close-out, ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective and practical solutions.
- Prepare and coordinate site and marine operations, including mobilising vessels, plant, equipment, materials and subcontractors, and workboat, diving, ROV, survey, lifting and marine logistics activities.
- Plan and oversee civil and marine works on site, such as seabed preparation, piling, trenching, foundations and surveys, while managing tides, metocean conditions, navigation, access and environmental constraints.
- Keep projects on track for HSE, quality, budget and programme, monitoring progress, resources and risks and preparing project, operational and as-built documentation.
- Contribute to tender preparation and client discussions with technical concepts, costing inputs and operational scenarios, and support compliant bid submissions.
Required profile
- Civil, Marine or Coastal Engineering, Naval Architecture, Subsea or Mechanical/Offshore Engineering background, with a strong interest in marine construction and project delivery.
- Ideally an engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- 2 to 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years on marine projects.
- Experience in marine civil works such as quay walls, jetties, subsea foundations, coastal protection, trenching or cable landfalls.
- Good understanding of workboat operations and marine construction logistics.
- Ability to work with international and multi-site teams and to coordinate teams and stakeholders across the UK.
- Flexibility to travel to project and site locations across the UK.
Required skills
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
- Practical, hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills.
Salary is based on experience; the location is Stirling.
