Civil Engineer – Residential Development (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with residential development experience to own infrastructure design packages from early‑stage planning through technical approval and on‑site delivery. You will join a well‑resourced, privately owned housing developer delivering high‑quality communities across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate detailed adoptable road and foul/surface water drainage designs.
• Prepare and manage Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 submissions to approval and adoption.
• Develop external level strategies and private drainage layouts.
• Coordinate foundation design requirements with external consultants.
• Assemble full civil engineering packages for residential schemes.
• Liaise with local authorities, highway authorities and water companies.
• Support discharge of engineering and planning conditions and manage approvals, technical agreements, inspections, bonds and adoption processes.
• Resolve engineering issues throughout design and construction phases.

Required profile

• Experience in civil engineering within residential development or consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 processes.
• Understanding of highways design standards, drainage design principles and Building Regulations Part H.
• Relevant civil engineering qualification (minimum HNC or equivalent).
• Proactive, detail‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving ability.
