Claims Assessor – Income Protection Team

About the role

We are expanding our Income Protection Claims team and are looking for a Claims Assessor to manage a portfolio of claims cases. You will work closely with internal and external partners to support both employers and employees, providing guidance and assistance during periods of illness, injury or long‑term absence.

Key responsibilities

• Assess income protection claims and arrange appropriate treatment.
• Provide telephone support to customers, helping them navigate financial stress and life‑changing events.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve the best outcomes for claimants.
• Use rehabilitation, motivational interviewing and relationship management techniques to support claim resolution.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Confident communicator on the phone with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong decision‑making ability, able to explain reasoning and negotiate effectively.
• Excellent planning, organising and time‑management skills.
• Resilient, adaptable and eager to learn.
• Previous experience in insurance or income protection is a plus, but not essential.
